Regret the inadequacy of the naval force in the St. Lawrence, in consequence of the many demands elsewhere for naval support. A ship of 24 guns will be sent for the winter to replace the “Viper”. Invasion from France expected ; on the eve on an action for the sovereignty of the sea against the combined fleets of France and Spain. (Page 68) – SN: 052001
